Wiser Films was founded in 2017 by Tas Brooker and Jim Wiseman with the goal of producing high-end film and television content. Drawing on their extensive industry experience, Wiser Films is committed to crafting exceptional storytelling across various formats. Beyond film and TV, the company specialises in commercials, branded, and digital content - delivering compelling visual narratives for global brands and audiences.
Wiser’s diverse portfolio includes acclaimed documentaries such as When We Speak (Disney +) and Williams & Mansell: Red 5 (Sky Documentaries), as well as returning television series such as Dream Car Fixers (UKTV) and The Car Years (ITV). The company is also dedicated to championing underrepresented talent, both behind and in front of the camera, ensuring diverse stories are brought to life on screen
Tas Brooker

Tas Brooker is an award-winning producer and director and has worked across a variety of programmes and genres from BAFTA nominated television documentaries to globally renowned series for over 15 years. Her documentary feature debut When We Speak (2022) was nominated for BIFA, BUFF and Raindance awards, and won Best Documentary at the Whistleblower Summit and Film festival, and tells the story of three women at the centre of high-profile exposés, revealing what drove them to speak out and the fallout it had on their lives. Featuring Hollywood actress Rose McGowan, who lifted the lid on Harvey Weinstein’s crimes and intelligence officer Katharine Gunn who leaked confidential documents relating to the Iraq war.
Throughout her career Tas has worked on a huge variety of programming with highlights including Production Managing the BBC’s flagship investigative series “Panorama” and overseeing several series of the international motoring show “Wheeler Dealers”, which under the tenure grew to become one of the most watched motoring programmes in the world and shown in over 200 territories. Tas also assisted in setting up the international mega-hit “The Grand Tour” for Amazon Prime and Line Managed the feature film, Ben Collins: Stunt Driver for Lionsgate.
As a British Asian filmmaker, Tas is passionate about representing underrepresented groups on screen, and has worked to develop numerous untold stories for the screen.
Jim Wiseman
Co-owner/producer
James Wiseman a.k.a Jim, carved out a career in TV working on show’s like They Think it’s all Over and Friends like These then Top Gear came calling. Jim was part of the creative team that put together Top Gear’s 2002-2015 format which made the series a global phenomenon and the most watched factual entertainment series in the world. From sourcing the studio and track complex, through formatting the stunts, jumps and races, to filming road tests all over the world.
After Top Gear Jim then went on to make Lewis Hamilton: Billion Dollar Man and Executive Produced acclaimed documentary Hammond Meets Moss for the BBC before directing promos for major brands Red Bull Racing, Lotus F1, Scuderia Ferrari and Pirelli alongside BBC and Channel 4 F1 coverage on TV.
In 2014 Jim Series Produced and Directed The Classic Car Show for Sony Pictures Television. In 2015 teamed up with former Top Gear colleague Ben Collins to direct Ben Collins Stunt Driver for Lionsgate UK. In 2017, Jim set up Wiser Films with Tas Brooker, directing behind the scenes features for Fast and Furious Live, prime time Channel 4 documentary Hitler’s Supercars, producing on feature documentary When We Speak as well as creating and directing returnable format The Car Years for ITV.
